Prayers for Eric Moncur and family…

It’s been reported that Miami defensive end Eric Moncur lost his mother Sunday morning after her long battle with cancer. Moncur missed last week’s season opener due to a sports hernia, but is expected to be healthy for Saturday’s contest at Florida.

Head coach Randy Shannon has obviously given Moncur the green light to sit this weekend out, but the senior defensive end has stated that he wants to play, in an effort to move on with things.

Our heartfelt condolences to the Moncur family in this time of tragedy.

  1. Terrible news. My condolences to Eric and the rest of his family. I had class with Eric two years ago, he’s really a good guy. May she rest in peace.

  2. Football is football and in the end it’s just a game. This is a terrible thing for a young man to have to deal with. My best wishes to Eric and his family.

  3. I read that Shannon is also going to be rotating a lot of dlinemen for that game. Moncur and bailey will get about 20-25 he said. Given the situation, I think that may get us killed. I think moncur needs to be in there as much as possible.

It sucks with the cards he was dealt with though. I can’t imagine losing a parent at his age

  4. I think we should take a time out from feild talk. We should consider his heart & mind, if I lost my mother I would want to feel like even the fans had compassion for my situation even with a big game looming!

With that said, our prayers are with you. You do what you feel is best for you and your family. If you feel like not even making the trip we understand and support you 110%!!!

  5. Losing a parent is tough no matter the age. Eric has the U famiily at his side now at least. Hopefully he plays and plays well.

    Condolences.
