Donate To ‘Lifeguards’ In Honor Of Shawn

Some updated information regarding arrangements for Shawn Duron, son of long-time UM photographer, Caneshooter JC Ridley, who will be remembered this coming week in Michigan.

There will be a memorial gathering for friends and family on Thursday May 3rd from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Memorial Alternatives. There will then be second memorial gathering, again for friends and family, on Saturday May 5th from 11:30 to 12:30pm at Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa, Michigan. There will be no interment of Shawn’s ashes at this time.

In lieu of flowers or other memorials, the family would prefer contributions to the University of Miami’s Lifeguards suicide prevention program.

To do that via online giving, go to from the drop-down box, select “Counseling Center”. Then in the “Additional Information” comment box, please enter “EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE LIFEGUARDS PROGRAM”.

At the bottom, enter “Shawn Ridley” and go to Type drop down box and then select “memorial”.

Please keep JC, Annette Gallagher and all those who knew Shawn in your thoughts and prayers during this tragic and difficult time. #UFamily
