Former Miami Hurricanes running back Willis McGahee is looking for a new home in 2013-2014 as the Denver Broncos have released their former starter.
The thirty-two year old McGahee is coming off a significant knee injury that sidelined him the final two months of the 2012-2013 season. He was slated to earn $2.5M with Denver this season and wasn’t offered the opportunity to return for a lower salary.
The Broncos have been giving carries to second-year pro Ronnie Hillman and rookie Montee Ball this off-season. McGaheen ran for 1,930 yards and eight touchdowns in twenty-five games with the Broncos and to date has thirty-three 100-yard games, the most of any active NFL running back.
McGahee indicated that he’d like to play for, in no particular order, Miami, Dallas, Green Bay, San Diego or Oakland this upcoming season.
