Miami Extends Larranaga’s Contract Through ’22

Miami Hurricanes head basketball coach Jim Larranaga is coming off a record season at “The U” and he’ll have another decade to repeat, or top the feat.

UM announced on Thursday that Larranaga—the AP, Naismith and USBWA Henry Iba National Coach of the Year honoree—will have his contract extended through the 2022 season.

The Hurricanes reached the NCAA Sweet 16 and won both the ACC regular season and conference tournament last season and were ranked as high as No. 2.  Miami also thumped top-ranked Duke at home by 27 and beat rival North Carolina twice in the regular season, as well is in the ACC Championship game.

UM wrapped the season 15-3 in ACC play, clinching the regular season crown in the home finale against Clemson.
