Larkin Named First-Team ACC, Kadji Second-Team

Post-season honors were handed out the Monday after the regular season ended and two Miami Hurricanes received huge pats on the back. Sophomore point guard Shane Larkin was named first-team all ACC while senior forward Kenny Kadji took home second-team conference honors.

Senior guard Durand Scott, arguably Miami’s best defender, picked up an honorable mention from the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ACSMA).

Larkin led the Canes in scoring (13.7 ppg), assists (131) steals (59) and three-point percentage (.403) and he recorded a steal in twenty-six games this season, as one point nabbing one in twenty straight contests.

Larkin also made at least one three-pointer in 26-of-30 games played this season, including two down the stretch against Clemson this past Saturday, after going scoreless in the first half.

Larkin saved his best for the big boys, putting up a season best 18 points in home games against Duke and North Carolina this season, while starting 29-of-30 games and scoring twenty points, or more, on five occasions.

Kadji led the Hurricanes in rebounds, pulling down 206 boards in thirty games, and was second on the team in scoring (13.6 ppg), blocks (41) and three-point percentage (.386). If his jersey read ‘Duke’ or ‘North Carolina’ instead of ‘Miami’, a good chance Kadji would’ve earned first-team honors with Larkin.
