Those overly concerned with the whereabouts of offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson, worry no more. The senior is back with the Hurricanes after missing the first three practices of fall — causing panic for some as his name was mentioned with Ray-Ray Armstrong months back and Armstrong has since been dismissed.
According to head coach Al Golden, Henderson’s absence was excused has he was home attending a friend’s funeral. Golden then took a swipe at reporters who have spent the past few days on ‘Hendersonwatch’, looking to make a story of his absence.
“It’s good to have him back,” said Golden. “We’ll see where he’s at in terms of going through the acclimation process and then we’ll go from there. He’s got to go through helmets [and shorts, without pads] for two days.
“You guys are the only ones talking about it. There’s no one else talking about it. He was away at his friend’s funeral. He came back yesterday, went to all the meetings last night and now we’re moving forward.”
The 6-foot-8 Henderson returned to Miami this fall at a trimmed down 340 pounds. For compliance-sake, he will spend two days in helmets and won’t be in pads right away. Henderson spent Monday morning doing blocking drills and getting re-acclimated.
GREAT to see him back in camp. Also just shows you how much control the media can have. I was afraid he was in trouble as thats all i kept hearing from so called “in the know sources”.

I think this will be Seantrel’s last year at The U, unfortunately. He will go to the NFL and get paid. He is kind of like Ray Ray as far as not seeming to get it at times. I hope he walks the walk this year and really helps the team, but seeing is beliving with this guy. He has the physical tools, but due to health and lack of discipline, has not made the impact that he should have. He could be the leader of the offense but hasn’t been on the field.
