Canes Defense Stonewalls Yellow Jackets

Miami shut down the triple option and worked over Georgia Tech, 24-7 at Sun Life on Saturday. Flu-stricken quarterback Jacory Harris was 8-of-20 for 140 yards on the day while Lamar Miller was the Canes’ leading rusher with 93 yards on 27 carries and a touchdown. Tommy Streeter was again Harris’ go-to at wideout, hauling in three receptions for 93 yards.

Miami had 262 yards to Georgia Tech’s 211, keeping the Yellow Jackets in check with only 134 yards on the ground. The Canes are now the lone team to beat the Ramblin’ Wreck three straight seasons under Paul Johnson. UM had lost four straight to GT before embarking on this three-game win streak.

Next up for Miami, a Thursday night, ESPN nationally televised showdown with Virginia.

Full recap forthcoming Sunday evening. Stay tuned. Huge win. Go Canes.
