Apple is currently reviewing the specs and the app should be available via iTunes before month’s end.
To kick off the release of the official allCanes iPhone app, we’re having a launch party on Wednesday June 23rd from 6pm to 8pm at Smoke’t Southern Kitchen in Coral Gables.
Former Miami great Lamar Thomas will be at the event, as will guest blogger Brian “The Beast” London. We’ll demo the app, there will be an iPod Touch giveaway and we’ll have drink specials, free apps and dinner discounts for the Cane fans in attendance. Just RSVP for the event via Facebook or call 305.661.9011 to let us know you’re on board!
Lastly, Droid and Blackberry faithful we’ve heard your cries and want you to know that your app will be in the works, based on the success of this iPhone app. We started with the iPhone because Apple and the iPhone make up over 80% of the marketshare regarding downloads.
Droids may be flying off the shelves (as some of you have been quick to point out) – but the Droid only makes up about 15% of the download marketplace with the Blackberry and other devices accounting for the other 5%.
Starting with an iPhone app was a no brainer – and was a hefty investment. In due time we will circle back and get something going for the Droid and Blackberry folk out there. Stay tuned.
