allCanes iPhone app UPGRADES!

For those of you with the app or for those of you yet to purchase it, we’ve recently upgraded our allCanes iPhone app experience.

We started with a graphics upgrade and higher retina display, which will have iPhone4 users excited. HD graphics have the app looking super sharp.

We also added a ‘Radio’ tab so that fans can stream allCanes Radio live, or can delve back into the archives to check out old episodes. The ‘Radio’ tab also gives you the option to stream WQAM live, making for a one button option that allows you Joe Rose, Gino Torretta, Michael Irvin, Sid Rosenberg and all the other QAM talent. Also great for streaming live on game day for play-by-play action.

Lastly, check out our ‘Video’ and ‘Photo’ sections as we’re posting more highlight videos every few weeks and started adding more pics from J.C. Ridley and CaneShooter.com. Every Monday after a UM win, we’ll post pics from the most recent game. Added this morning, shots from the 26-20 victory over Maryland and coming soon, more UM athletics images – men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, swimming, et al.

For those who already own the allCanes iPhone app, thank U for the purchase. For those yet to check it out, click here and get on board!

  1. Actually, YOU need to talk to your other Droid users, getting them on board with downloading apps.

Say what you will about the iPhone, but 80% of all apps downloaded are by iPhone users. Droid users make up about 15% of that market share and the final 5% are Blackberry and 'other'.

We're not going to invest big money in a Droid app until Droid users prove they are willing to pay for downloadable apps at at a current rate of 5x less than the average iPhone user.

  2. The Droid is a nice phone, but if you're a fan of Apple products it's a no brainer. I've messed around with the Droid and it's nice enough and has some great features, but feels PC based.

I prefer Mac products and while AT&T sucks, to the me the iPhone can't be beat.

  3. Sadly Droid users are going to have to wait a while.

A ton of cash to develop and produce this app and right now, Droid users simply aren't downloading enough apps to justify the cost.

As mentioned early, iPhone / iPad / iPod accounts for about 80% of the download marketshare, while Droid is only about 15%.

That's 5x more downloads for Apple products than that Droid and until there's more of a shift, nothing we can do.

Hopefully some of you Droid users have an iPod Touch or iPad and can appreciate the app that way for now.
