2009 Nike Gear Rolling In…

I’ve received several emails this week about Nike jerseys and what’s in stock. The #12 and #31 replicas are now in, as are a slew of other Nike items. Click here to check out the latest.

Regarding the authentic jerseys, it looks like #2 and #5 will be carried over from last season. Until Nike moves all those, they’re not going to commit to new authentic jersey numbers. Just a heads up. Go Canes.

  • Damn...I was hoping to pimp the #57 for the Manimal at the games this season

    DAU!!!

  • Thanks for the update, I had been wondering, nice looking stuff, I'll definitely have to stop by. There's no way to convince them to put the leftover 2s and 5s together on a single jersey?

  • Spence and Harris jerseys.

When was the last time UM/NIKE made a LB jersey available from UM? Or is that the first?

  • Twentybinders, I think the last LB Nike has made for Miami is #44 (Dan Morgan). I can't wait until the Twill jerseys come out for Jacory and Spence. One question allcanes, will any of the twill's be available in white?

  • I've purchased plenty of Cane gear from AllCanes via mail, being from out of state, and let me encourage everyone to represent more this year. Now is the time where we see who the true U fans are, and I want everyone to get gear from AllCanes and sport it whenever and wherever possible! Even if someone doesn't know me at work, they know I am a Cane fan and that's what I like. So I say buy some gear now and show you're a Cane, no matter what our record has been the past few years. It's easy to say you're a fan when you're on top, but when it's tough is when it matters most. I'll be getting t shirts to sport when I'm out and about about in Columbus, showing I'm a leader not a follower. GO CANES!!!

  • all canes,

i have a question for you...and i know this has nothing to with the gear...even though i buy a ton of it each year...

but my question is this...what is all this stuff i read in the news about the miami football program not having any alumni support and that it is going to be hard for RS to get this program back to becoming a nation champion because of it?

that the hurricanes with win their fair share of ACC titles but winning 5 NC's in 19 years...is now a dream?

i read this stuff on espn from what appeared to be a decent writer

or is this just typical stuff miami faces and deals with in the media...due to being a small private school?

i dont get to see the nitty gritty with the school because i am in VA...and i come down for games...but let me know what you think

    VA CANE

  • Good work, Columbus Cane.

Sport your Cane gear with pride! I know I will be doing the same here in the 305!

  • allcanes I got a question concerning the gear:

You know how every year they come out with a championship t-shirt for the winning team, the commercials we all see on television that can be ordered. Is it at all possible to get the 2001 authentic t-shirt, or did those only start recently?

  • does anybody know where you can buy the jerseys we had in the early 2000's during the championship runs, we shoulda never changed from those

  • but my question is this...what is all this stuff i read in the news about the miami football program not having any alumni support and that it is going to be hard for RS to get this program back to becoming a nation champion because of it?

What they say makes sense. Miami is a private school with under 10,000 undergrads. Most Canes fans aren't alum and more Florida and Florida State alum reside in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.

What you're seeing in Florida isn't an accident. Millions upon millions of dollars are poured into Gator Athletics. Big money spent on big time coaches and top notch facilities. UF's sports marketing department is working overtime and spending countless dollars building Florida's brand.

The Canes made their name flying under the radar, marching to their own beat and redefining the game. Randy Shannon is going to have to be creative if he's going to turn UM around.

A big article was on Sun Sentinel today about getting back to Miami-style players, as opposed to being enamored with five-star talent overhyped on recruiting websites. Tom Luginbill called it a risky move, but one he thinks is paying off for UM.

As I've said here on several occasions, I'm backing Randy because I believe he knows what it'll take to rebuild the Canes with college football where it's at in 2009. He has the blueprint and will do what both Jimmy and Butch did. He is stockpiling talent and is reeling in kids that fit the mold.

Mentioned in the article, the fact that Sean Spence was seen as undersized and wasn't highly recruiting - but Miami went after him hard, he stayed home and he's one f the better young linebackers in the game. Compare that to working so hard for an overhyped Willie Williams a few years back and that blowing up in the Canes' face. Then look at all the other recruits who fit that overhyped bill -- from Ryan Moore to Lance Leggett to Kyle Wright to you name it.

Give Miami another year. 2009 will show promise, but Randy needs one more class. By 2010 the Canes are a force again.
