Tavadis Glenn kicked out of UF football camp

It’s another one of those stories that fuels a rivalry and keeps that hate pumping. Another Hatfield v. McCoys-type situation that keeps Canes and Gators at odds, even though they only meet up a few times per decade.

Miami offensive line recruit Tavadis Glenn trekked to Gainesville this weekend for the University of Florida’s Friday Night Lights camp and was eventually booted for tossing up the U hands during a drill. The Canes earned the commit from the Jacksonville Terry Parker High product, which can’t sit well – a kid from Gator Country headed to Coral Gables.

Another situation that has Canes fans high on a future recruit, while making Davis persona non grata with Gator faithful.

In case Florida fans are wondering, Davis let it be known that he understands this is how the game is played… but that he plans on making the Gators pay if/when the two teams meet up in 2013. Stay tuned.

  • Haha gotta love the loyalty and passion he showed in repping THE U in the middle of enemy territory. That's the kind of player THE U was built on... nothing but straight swag, not giving a damn about anyone other than THE U!!!

  • lmao thats right reppin the U even in Gator "area" (none of tht gator "country" this is CANES COUNTRY)

  • Wow, stay classy Thug UF.

I don't know whats more pathetic, Meyer bouncning a high school kid for showing pride in his future school, or ESPN covering how Spurrier accidently didn't vote for Tebow and then came out and serviced Gator fan on his knees...

    Sheesh...

Go Canes, and it's great to see young talent pumped up about reppin their f-U-ture.

  • He let it be "know" huh? Is that the good 'ol Miami edumacation?

    1. It was a typo and grammatical error not picked up in spell check.

    2. I earned my B.A. in English from the University of Florida, so feel free to blame it on my 'edumacation'.

  • So as a fellow Gator, how do you end up promoting Thug U? I just don't get it.

Florida has over two dozen arrests on Meyer's watch, yet you're still touting the played out "Thug U" regarding Miami. Typical.

I'm no "fellow Gator". Born and raised a Cane, did my final two years at UF (like a prison sentence), got my degree and got out.

730 days in Gainesville doesn't cancel out a lifetime of being a Miami fan.

  • I don't get why this kid was in Hogtown in the first place. If he's already a commit, he shouldn't have been there. And why does he need his "stock to rise" if he is already committed to the U and fully plans on being in Coral Gables. Shannon yanked a schollie from a kid last year when he took other visits after verbally committing.

    Also...

I actually have some reservations that he'll be able to handle Shannon's tight discipline given being booted from his original HS for being unable to follow team rules and then simply can't follow the simple instructions to take his act down a notch when requested by those running the Gate camp...

Seems he might have some discipline issues, IMO. Which certainly doesn't seem to fit with the Shannon mold as he has been recruiting since he took over the helm.
