This idiotic, slap-in-the-face promotion … couldn’t be happier to see a team sitting at 0-5. A Canes fan would get jumped for wearing orange and green at The Swamp, so the premise of anything about ‘The U’ being honored in northern Florida – hell would sooner freeze over.
UM quarterback Jacory Harris took to Twitter yesterday, chiming in on this Sunday’s showdown honoring the 2008 National Champion Florida Gators and the return of Broncos quarterback / legendary Gator Tim Tebow.
“I be that they’re not honoring the University of Miami in Gainesville. I’m just saying!”, tweeted J12.
Some lowlights from this weekend’s event per the Dolphins’ media release:
– Former UF head coach Urban Meyer will be available to the media at 11:20am and at 11:45am the Gator Tailgate, featuring Meyer and Gator alumni, including Nat Moore, Louis Oliver and Lorenzo Hampton.
– “The Florida Gator Championship Celebration” includes the Miami Dolphins and Orange Bowl Committee paying tribute to UF’s 2008 National Championship team, including a check presentation to the Florida Opportunity Scholarship fund as well as the Gator Band performing at the beginning and end of the halftime ceremony.
– The event will be emceed by Big 105.9 DJ and Gator alum Paul Castronovo.
May karma have its way with the Miami Dolphins organization all season long. You don’t celebrate your hometown college team’s arch rival in your city’s home stadium simply for the sake of making a buck. Thanks for turning Sun Life into Jorts Central this weekend.
