Miami Hurricanes Week Five Depth Chart

The Miami Hurricanes jumped to No. 14 in the overall rankings after a convincing 49-21 win over winless South Florida at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa this past weekend. Miami will open ACC season this Saturday as Georgia Tech trek south to Sun Life Stadium for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff (ESPN U/WatchESPN).

The Week 5 depth chart has been released and there are few changes from last week. Center Shane McDermott is back in full action, but is listed as either/or with Jared Wheeler, who was effective in McDermott’s absence.

Third-string running back Eduardo Clements has a hamstring pull which could sideline him for a while, pushing freshman Gus Edwards to third string behind Duke Johnson and Dallas Crawford. The Hurricanes could also remove the recent redshirt given to freshman fullback Walter Tucker as the result of Clement’s injury.

Freshman wide receiver Stacy Coley remains either/or in the slot (as well as on kickoff or punt returns), rounding out the offense.

Defensively there’s little change, outside of third-string cornerback Corn Elder being left off the depth chart. Elder is doing his best Vad Lee in practice this week, emulating Georgia Tech’s quarterback as Miami works to defend the triple option.
