Miami Hurricanes Week Eight Depth Chart

The Miami Hurricanes survived another thriller this past weekend, rallying back with two fourth quarter touchdowns to knock off Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons had an early 14-3 lead and were controlling the clock, but the Hurricanes made some halftime adjustments and figured out a way to turn things around in the 24-21 win.

Next up, the week everyone has been waiting for—the annual showdown with Florida State. For the first time since 2003, both the Hurricanes and Seminoles enter the contest undefeated. ESPN’s College GameDay will be in Tallahassee for this tussle between No. 3 and No. 7.

Despite the undefeated seasons and four-ranking spots that divide the two, Florida State is a three-touchdown favorite over Miami, who has struggled as of late, despite remaining winless.

Head coach Al Golden released the new depth chart and there are few noticeable differences.

Some movement on the offensive line as the experienced Shane McDermott is back at center, over Jared Wheeler, who has been moved to right guard.

At wide receiver it’s Herb Waters and Stacy Coley both listed as co-starters, where Waters had the edge last week. Coley is also listed on kickoff return with Duke Johnson and co-punt returner with Dallas Crawford again, someone needing to step up with Phillip Dorsett sidelined.

Previously injured Rashawn Scott is listed as third-string wideout, eligible to play last week against Wake Forest but not called upon. Malcolm Lewis is also listed as second-string wide receiver and second-string slot, slowly playing himself back into the mix, trying to get game-ready after last year’s ankle injury.

Defensively, a lot of co-starters—especially in the secondary, same as last week. Tracy Howard and Antonio Crawford are co-starters at cornerback, as are Ladarius Gunter and Artie Burns. At safety it’s Deon Bush and Kacy Rodgers II, held out last week due to injury, listed as co-starters, while Rayshawn Jenkins is getting the nod over AJ Highsmith on the other side.
