Miami Hurricanes Updated Depth Chart

The Miami Hurricanes enter week two with a 1-0 record after winning the season opener at Boston College, 41-32 on Saturday afternoon. Next up for the Canes, another road trip. Miami heads to Manhattan to take on Kansas State this coming Saturday.

Head coach Al Golden made some tweaks to the depth chart for game two.

– At wideout Allen Hurns, Malcom Lewis and Philip Dorsett are starters for game two. Last week Hurns and Dorsett were co-first teamers. Kendal Thompkins and Rashawn Scott have dropped back to second team after being co-starters last weekend.

Mike James remains the starter at running back with Duke Johnson and Eduardo Clements listed as co-second teamers.

– Converted defensive lineman Jeremy Lewis is second team at left guard behind Jon Feliciano while Seantrel Henderson will see his first action of the year at second-string right tackle behind true freshman starter Ereck Flowers.

Luther Robinson has taken a step back, with Darius Smith starting opposite Olsen Pierre at defensive tackle. Some shake ups with the second stringers as Robinson is now co-second team with Corey King and Jalen Grimble jumps ahead of Earl Moore on Smith’s side.

Eddie Johnson locked down the starting job he shared with Thurston Armbrister last week. Johnson had a strip in last week’s win.

–  Ladarius Gunter was last week’s starter at corner, backed by Tracy Howard and Thomas Finnie as co-second teamers. Finnie has been named this week’s starter. Gunter will back Brandon McGee on the other side, while Howard is behind Finnie.

– True freshman safety Deon Bush has jumped to co-first teamer with Kacy Rodgers II. Andrew Swasey has dropped from the depth chart.

– The surprise of the week is Dyron Dye earning the starting role at tight end, surpassing Asante Cleveland. Clive Walford is third string.

  1. I hope coaches don’t take Flowers out for any period of time just because Henderson is behind him. If he graded out at a 90 for the game, then he should have his place on lockdown until he has a bad game. Henderson can either go to another place along the line or sit. Henderson hasn’t really been part of the team so far with all the time he’s missed, while Flowers has put in the time and busted his butt. We need to play whomever is producing more on the field, and not potential.
