Miami Baseball Passes Test, Free Of HGH

The Miami Hurricanes athletic department and NCAA remain in a battle, horns locked over the recent Notice Of Allegations that was handed down, putting respective presidents Donna Shalala and Mark Emmert at odds, releasing statements in effort to posture for battle.

Also stealing headlines, the Miami basketball program as the Hurricanes are the second-ranked squad in the nation, making a bid for a one-seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament this march.

Lost in the shuffle, Miami baseball and today’s back-page story that the entire Hurricanes squad was tested for Human Growth Hormone and came up clean. The University of Miami recently ordered additional testing for it’s baseball team after the school was linked to Major League Baseball’s latest drug investigation, regarding a PED clinic in South Florida.

Again, UM is proactive in its efforts to comply with the rules, but no news doesn’t equate to ‘news’, so the story is swept under the rug.

In other news, Miami took down Florida Atlantic in eleven innings on Wednesday, winning 5-4 and advancing to 4-0 on the season with Milwaukee visiting The Light for a three-game stint this weekend.
