The injury bug has bitten for the second time in less than a week. Against Bethune-Cookman, linebacker Ramon Buchanan went down with a season-ending knee injury and the latest victim is defensive lineman Marcus Forston, who is said to have suffered a non-contact knee injury during Wednesday’s practice. Miami also lost Curtis Porter recently, meaning the Canes’ two top defensive tackles are now shelved for the season.
Depth was an issue before injury but is an even bigger problem now. Freshman Olson Pierre and junior college transfer Darius Smith have seen some playing time the past few weeks and will be relied on even more with Forston and Porter out. It also makes this weekend’s road trip to Blacksburg that much tougher considering Jalen Grimble and Luther Robinson are also out for the match up against the Hokies.
Get better, No. 99.
