On Tuesday South Dade High’s weight room was renamed “The Rolle Room” thanks to a $30,000 donation from the 26-year old superstar.
“I think it’s a great motivator,” said Rolle. “When they come in and see fresh new weights and those pictures of me up there as someone to inspire them, maybe that will help them to keep their eyes on their prize as far as where they want to go.”
For those wowed by Rolle’s random act of goodness, it should be noted that this isn’t the first time he’s stepped up to the plate. Prior to this recent donation, $4,000 was given to Southridge athletic director Harvey Clayton Sr. for new football uniforms. Before that, Rolle’s foundation gave three South Dade High seniors and six Homestead High seniors $2,500 scholarships.
Manny Navarro also pointed out in his blog that Rolle made this commitment to give back with former teammate and long-time friend, the late Sean Taylor. Random, quiet acts of kindness was their modus operandi.
Now it’s a challenge Rolle is taking on alone.

47 DAYS TILL WE TAKE OVER TALLY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of my fav DB's from the U!!!!!
Too often, we as fans forget that even athletes who look like they were genetically engineered in a sports lab and who make superhuman feats look damn near routine on a football field are just people, too. Even with all of his physical talents and football accomplishments on the field, Antrel Rolle is an even better person OFF the field. It's also nice to see athletes getting publicity for their ability to do the RIGHT thing off the field as well. Speaking as a Canes Alum and Canes Season-Ticket holder, thank you Antrel, for being a stand-up dude... even though I gotta say it was a pleasure watching you ON the field as well repping for THE U.
I grew up in Homestead and graduated from South Dade in '70 when we were the "Rebels". Thank you Antrel for the example you set for the young men in our community.I am proud that south Florida continues to produce not just top quality athletes but quality young men and women.
GO CANES!!!
Yet another reason I feel that we lost Sean much too early... Go Canes!!!
I Bleed Orange and Green!!!
Way to represent the U and give back. That's called never forgetting who you are and where you came from. Total respect for Rolle in my books.
It's All About The U!!
Well done, Antrel.
