The Beast sits down with Bruce Feldman…

A few weeks back, Miami alum, accomplished author, ESPN.com columnist and all around good guy Bruce Feldman showered a lot of praise on the 2010 version of the Hurricanes.

We at allCanesBlog wanted to delve a little deeper, so our own Brian “The Beast” London sat dow with Bruce earlier this week, asking him to elaborate on the State of The U, the contract issues involving Randy Shannon, recruitment/development of players, how UM football alum feel about this crop of Canes, as well as what Miami has to accomplish for this to be deemed a successful season.

Thanks to Bruce for making the time. Check the link below for a good fifteen minutes inside the mind of friend-of-allCanes, Bruce Feldman.

For more on Bruce, check out his site, as well as his books – Cane Mutiny, Meat Market and The U of Miami College Football Vault. For more on The Beast, tune in at SoFloRadio.com.

  • Great interview, Beast!

Bruce Feldman gets it. Too bad Kirby Hocutt and Miami's administrators don't.

Go Canes. Sign Randy and let the man get back to recruiting!

  • Very much appreciate the audio-link. Would not have heard the interview w/o it.

Feldman's a 7: Not overly interested but mostly positive for the U. I understand it is only April. But it sounded like the U interview was about as important to Feldman as any other. Meaning 10 minutes later he'd be on in Orlando talking 'bout UCF...

Let's all remember: Feldman's paycheck is a direct result of views and clicks on espn...
So being positive and a little controversial sell papers -- or in today's world --generates hits...

Bottom Line -- thanks and respect -- keep'm coming

But I got a bigtime program Qstion: What bigtime school lets their coach get into this kinda situation. A situation where it's the last season of a five year deal? Where NO ONE gets arrested, we improve each year, we got the right staff and students...and almost EVERYONE graduates??
Even IF (a big if) it's RS pulling the strings and making delays...
this situation -- meaning RS's Kontract -- it aint friggin normal for D1 Football coaches -- and it aint right!

    Hey, Kirby!!!
    Get'r done, NOW!
    ---

Stop going to the Light at ARoid Field to watch Coach Morris' team -

and get Coach Shannon's deal DONE ---
    D-O-N-E
    DONE!

Oh, btw -- the team's gotta win - and win big -- granted.
But calling all "fans" in SFla???
You've got to go to the games -- every one...u dig?
    Goto the games!

    Canes, baaby

  • I gotta say that this situation is embarrasing! You have an elite program with a storied past like the Canes and won't even pay your coach a descent salary? This man took the job that nobody wanted, cleaned up the program, and brought the talent back, but you can't open up your wallets? This is sickening and it is getting old and distracting! Randy Shannon should be worrying about recruiting more depth and winning games this year, not turning down UM's insulting contract offers. Excuse me for a second, Kirby and Donna are making me wanna puke! They should both be ashamed!! PAY THE MAN BIT#@ES!!
