Miami remains NFL U … enough said

The NFL Network released it’s list of the “Top 100 Players of 2011” and ten Miami Hurricanes made the list.

One out of every ten players listed is from ‘The U’ and in other news, not one player from Florida, Florida State, South Florida, Florida International or Florida Atlantic made the list.

Al Golden just landed one more recruiting tool. Thanks, NFL Network and thanks to the ten legendary Canes on this list for busting their asses and being the best of the best.

  1. you need to sell this poster…This is a must have for my office wall, where I am surrounded by Gators and 'Noles and I can put this in their face.
This only proves the "U" is the only school who could field a whole NFL squad with active alumni and DOMINATE, well..minus a QB (unless we can get Testeverde out there with a walker, or Kenny Ballgame back to the NFL but in old college form and not the NFL version :P)

  2. …and 3 in the Top 7 is even better! The numbers don't lie in this case. If you can excel and make it at The U, you can make it in The League. While other programs may get the hype for whatever reason, The U gets it done in the end. 'Nuff said.

  3. Think it is well worth stating that this was voted on by CURRENT PLAYERS. People (you know, those with public school education) seem to be under the impression that because this graphic is so U-oriented, the list was compiled by a 'Canes site.

Also want to make light of THREE IN THE TOP TEN. That's fairly ridiculous, but we all know it's true.

  4. Awesome post..Thanks..Proving yet again, that even during these lean years, we have plenty to be proud of as canes fans..I wonder how close that guys like Santana Moss, and Brandon Merriweather came…Thanks again!

  5. Too bad the last time any of these UM guys were in college was several yrs ago…all this does is show you how impressive UM was during the early part of the
2000's. But what have you done for me lately?

  6. What have we done for you lately? How about fire a lame duck coach who was in over his head, while the new guy is bringing back all these NFL studs for camps so that they can work with the NCAA and NFL star of tomorrow. Last I checked, the Canes have about 20 verbal commitments under Al Golden, who beat out a lot of big time schools to get these kids. If you don't think the culture is changing with this new coach you're crazy. Blandy Shammin went 9-4 in 2010 without a brain in his head. What do you think Golden will do with a better staff, better players and better recruits?

  7. And there are a lot of new players who can fill in the spots left by the old ones:

Sam Shields may get on this
    Jimmy Graham/Winslow/Olsen

  8. Actually he went 7-6 in 2010 with a humiliating bowl loss though he was not there to coach it..

  9. Hey Anonymous,

The point is, WHERE the Top 100 NFL players went to college. Your college must not have had any listed. Like we say, "Haters hate".
