UM Sports Hall Of Fame Banquet Tonight

Seven University of Miami sports legends will be inducted into the UM Sports Hall Of Fame this evening. The event will take place at Jungle Island on Key Biscayne and the soon-to-be-inducted UM greats are Ed Contreras (baseball), Ken Dorsey (football), Bryan Gillooly (diving), Norm Parsons (golf coach), Brett Romberg (football), Jay Tessmer (baseball) and Don Soldinger (football coach).

No more tickets are available for the event, so call some U Family members to see if they have extra space for you at their table, should you want to crash!

Also, props to Herald reported Susan Miller Degnan who asked Dorsey, current quarterbacks coach for the Carolina Panthers, if he’d ever like to coach at UM.

“One day,” Dorsey said. “It’s not for lack of trying. If that’s something they’d ever be interested in, that’s something I’d definitely be interested in, for sure. I think everybody there knows I’m involved in coaching and everything like that. I’ll just leave it at that.”

Sounds like some general interest from #11 should the job ever come available and also sounds like he might’ve inquired about the gig in the past.
