Miami’s Radziewski Named All-American

miami hurricanes pitcher bryan radziewski rawlings all american baseball ncaa regionalsMiami pitcher Bryan Radziewski picked up another big time honor as the lefty was named to the Rawlings All-American team on Tuesday. Earlier in the year “B-Rad” made the Louisville Slugger All-American team.

Radziewski finished the season 9-3 with a 1.78 ERA and struck out 109 batters. His final outing of the season came in a 6.1-inning outing against Louisville in the NCAA Regionals.

Radziewski threw six solid innings and came up with some defensive plays in an eight-strikeout performance, but saw the wheels come off in the bottom of the seventh due to some defensive errors and a few plunked batters, walking in runs and keeping the disastrous inning alive. At one point, Radziewski retired twelve straight batters.

Radziewski was recently drafted in the 29th round of the MLB Draft (875th overall) by the St. Louis Cardinals, but the senior-to-be is expected to return to Miami for one more season, unlike some former teammates who are parting ways with the program.

Announced yesterday, five Hurricanes baseball players are not set to return – pitchers Alexander Fernandez, Frank Grandinette and Jace Herrera, catcher Roger Gonzalez and infielder Esteban Tresgallo. We wish all of them the best in their future endeavors.
