Miami Hurricanes 2011 Football Schedule

The Miami Hurricanes have released their 2011 football schedule and both the home and road games are both exciting and daunting. UM will play seven games at Sun Life, while visiting opponents a mere five times.

Out the gate, Miami heads to Maryland on Labor Day weekend for an 8pm Monday night nationally televised ESPN showdown. The Terps and Canes played a late-season thriller in 2010 and this year’s contest will feature new head coaches on each sideline.

Miami then gets a twelve-day layoff before Ohio State heads to town for rematch of last year’s meeting in Columbus. The following week, another out of conference showdown as the Big XII sends Kansas State to Sun Life Stadium for a rare meeting between the Canes and Wildcats.

Miami plays it’s third straight home game on October 1st when a breather game against Bethune-Cookman is on the schedule, but from there a tough three-game ACC stretch. Miami is at Virginia Tech on October 8th, at North Carolina on October 15th and hosts Georgia Tech on October 22nd.

The lone ESPN Thursday night showdown of the season comes on October 27th – five days after the match up with the Yellow Jackets – and Miami will welcome Virginia, who upset the Canes last season, making for what should be a rowdy ‘revenge’ game.

Duke heads to Miami on November 5th and on November 12th the Canes trek north to Tallahassee for a late-season match up with the Noles. November 19th marks the last road trip of the season when Miami heads to Tampa to face South Florida and the home season finale comes a week later when Miami and Boston College face off over Thanksgiving weekend.
