Miami 77, Boston College 71

Big win for Miami Basketball today at Boston College, 77-71. Nice to see the opponent stumbling down the stretch, missing free throws and not capitalizing on opportunities.

The Canes were even forced to close it out with point guards Jack McClinton and Lance Hurdle on the bench, both having fouled out.

I missed the majority of the game, sucked into watching the RavenCanes beat down the Titans. Hi-Def NFL action trumps an ESPN U Lo-Def college basketball game.

Miami has now won five straight and eight of their last nine. Next up, a Wednesday night home game against Maryland. Next Saturday, the game of the season – Miami @ North Carolina. 9pm ET, ESPN HD and a litmus test regarding where these Hurricanes are just past the season’s halfway point.

  • Eddie Rios was not present again. Supposedly he was sick, but that's why the Hurdle and McClinton foul issues were critical.

Posters on Grassy say he wants off the team. 305, do you know anything?

  • A gutsy win for our guys.

A big win also. Beating ranked teams on the road in conference play is what it is all about.

This is a huge win which should really jump start our ACC campaign and will be a critical notch in our belt if we are on the bubble come tourney time.

  • canes bball needs to win these games, last year thhey lost these kinds to vtech and bc also i believe, and same with clemson. They need to turn it up to 11 towards the end of tight games and put it away.

Rios has been suspended again. Grassy posters are typically not to be trusted but this time they may have been on to something because "being sick" for the BC game was clearly a cover story so that Haith didn't have to deal with Rios' attitude on the day of a big game.

I don't believe Rios will be in the program next year. Hopefully the kid will prove us all wrong but right now despite being a local product who committed to the U as a sophomore in HS, he seems to want out.
