… and there you have it. So many ways to pick this one apart; it’s too easy.
Randy Shannon, the assistants and the players … the way you went out today is unforgivable and unacceptable. Shut out in the first half and stumbling down the stretch with the game on the line.
Weeks back Stephen Morris threw a rope to Leonard Hankerson for the game-winner against Maryland.
This week, the exact opposite as Jacory Harris sailed a duck towards a corner who was covering LaRon Byrd in the final moments of a tie game. Miami could’ve run and set Matt Bosher up for a field goal attempt, but inexplicably Harris went for the home run, noodle-armed it and South Florida forced overtime … which can be summed up as a three-and-out disaster on offense and another horrendous showing by the Canes’ rushing defense.
Kirby Hocutt, you went on allCanes Radio this week and stated the following:
“At ‘The U’, we don’t change expectations, we meet them.”
“We expect to be relevant nationally.”
The expectation of this fan base is to field a competitive football team that both plays with heart and maximizes its talent. There is no excuse for 7-5 and to be unranked at this point of the season.
Furthermore, forget about being relevant nationally – after this dog of a season (and worst home record since 1997), the Canes aren’t even relevant in the Sunshine State.
I am reading into your comments and pray that come tomorrow you drop the hammer and do what needs to be done in effort to make the Miami Hurricanes relevant again.
Way too much talent to go out like chumps.
Full ‘recap’ and rant coming Sunday … or Monday.
