Happy Thanksgiving, Hurricane Nation

Sitting at 7-4, this Miami Hurricanes’ fan base is frustrated and while that’s understandable, there’s a lot to give thanks for on this special day. Look at all aspects of your lives. Your family. Your friends. Your career. Things that bring you true joy.

Being a fan of an erratic football program is a choice, but it cannot be all-consuming. Every Saturday two teams go at it and 50% of the teams that come to play are going home with a loss. Beyond that, in the end there’s only one winner, so the odds of uninterrupted happiness and sheer joy are virtually impossible.

Here’s hoping my Hurricane brethren can appreciate the good and can learn to take the bad in stride – while treating each other with more respect along the way.

Happy Thanksgiving, Hurricane Nation and thank you for your support, patronage and undying love for the University of Miami.

There’s more to ‘report’ on the program, but let’s leave that for tomorrow. Right now it seems right to put any Canes-related analysis on the backburner until manana.

  1. Sadly, it's not a choice if you're an alumnus, just pain and sorrow. Haha. Happy thanksgiving.

  2. At the end of the day football is just a game! Life is Good Allcanes!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your Family…

  3. Thanks sir, the same to you and yours and the rest of the Miami Hurricane family (players, coaches, alums, fans, boosters, supporters, etc.).

  4. If there is one thing I am thankful for this year, is Kirby Hocutt's refusal to renew the short-lived, "rivalry" with those arrogant clowns of USF. The football program has nothing to gain paying against them year after year. And South Florida is better off playing "Wanna be my in-state rival?" with somebody their own size; UCF.
